James H Solloway Jr
Age:
17

Pinkerton Academy
His story:
JJ started skating at the tender age of 4 holding onto 2 plastic
milk crates taped together. He started as a mite defenseman for the
Salem, NH Youth Hockey playing for the Saints. JJ always wanted to
play goalie so his Dad went out and purchased a set of gear for him
and work with him in the driveway. During one of his mite games the
starting goalie never showed up and JJ was asked to play - The rest
is History. The following season he moved up to the Manchester, NH
Flames organization as a goalie from his 2nd year mites to 1st year
bantams. After bantams JJ played for Casey Kesselring's NH Avalanche
as a midget and is currently a midget major. JJ is a Junior at
Pinkerton Academy and has been on the varsity hockey team since he
was a freshman. His freshman year JJ saw the ice for about 10
minutes and prevailed with a shutout. His sophomore year he shared
his goalie duties with another goalies due to a bout with the flu.
His junior year was something to talk about registering a record of
14-4-1 with a GAA of 1.79 and a 93.7% save average. He played a
major role in getting his team to the NHIAA State Division I Finals
played at the Verizon Wireless Arena on March 15th were he recorded
33 saves in a 3-0 victory over Hanover NH.
